Supporting Caregivers through Dementia and ADL Education

Abstract

This doctoral capstone was completed in partnership with Synergy HomeCare in Brentwood, TN. They are a fairly new homecare agency that provides caregivers to various individuals throughout middle TN. The purpose of this capstone was to support the caregivers who work for Synergy HomeCare by providing them with educational materials and training to further their skills as a caregiver. Some of the materials created included dementia training/education, a dementia resource list, and educational videos. The educational videos that were created focused on gait belt use, wheelchair to car transfers, and self-care.
