What is the Belmont Digital Repository?

The Belmont Digital Repository (BDR) is a collection of scholarly, research, and creative works produced by Belmont faculty, students, and staff. The Repository is administered jointly by the Lila D. Bunch Library and the Law Library in cooperation with individual departments and academic units of the University.

Do I have to login to view content?

You do not have to login to view most content on the BDR; however, some content may be restricted to being viewed only by Belmont University faculty, staff, and students. You can login to view this content with your Belmont University credentials.

How can visitors find and access the content in the Belmont Digital Repository?

The Belmont Digital Repository is an open repository that can be searched directly and through search engines like Google. BDR content is also posted on other relevant, subject-specific repositories.

Who can submit content to the Belmont Digital Repository?

Current and retired faculty at Belmont University, current students at Belmont University, and current staff at Belmont University.

What can I submit?

Belmont students, faculty, staff and alumni can submit scholarly research and/or creative works produced during their time at Belmont. We follow the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration guidelines for archival file types. We have a list of supported file types here.

How do I submit my idea for a new collection?

Complete the Digital Collection Proposal Form.

Can my new collection be password protected?

The BDR offers access control options including password authentication and IP range restrictions. Please contact us at repository@belmont.edu for more details.

How do I submit my thesis?

Refer to the BDR Submission LibGuide for detailed instructions. If your academic department has not established a digital collection on the BDR that will serve as the home for your thesis or final project, please contact us at repository@belmont.edu.
