Belmont Humanities Symposium Journal
Editor’s Note
This third volume of the Belmont Humanities Symposium Journal offers critical discussion and reflections on aspects of the 2012 Symposium's theme of"Civility and its Discontents:' We hope that these contributions will be of wide interest to readers across the Belmont community, and that they will contribute to enriching the dialogue among us.
I would like to express my gratitude to the BHSJ Executive Board, to the Editorial Advisory Board and to the jury readers, whose careful consideration and expeditious reading of submissions are greatly appreciated. Words of thanks go as well to President Fisher and the Belmont administration, whose on-going support of the Humanities Symposium encourages the kind of thoughtful dialogue found here. A special word of thanks goes Jason Lovvorn, Melanie Walton, and the team of Humanities faculty whose tireless efforts made this Symposium a reality.
