Abstract
Peirce's philosophical interests were as diverse as the philosophical school that now bears the name pragmatism: ethics, Christianity, logic, semiotics, psychology and art were only a few of the myriad topics that captured Peirce's boundless interests. To discover some common theme amidst that diverse array of topics would seem challenging at best, if not outright impossible, yet I maintain such a theme does exist, and remains at the very heart of Peirce's massive body of work.
