Abstract
This pilot qualitative study explores the lived experiences of neurodivergent female undergraduate music education majors enrolled in teacher preparation programs at a teaching-centered university. Although neurodiversity is increasingly recognized within K–12 educational discourse, comparatively little research has examined how neurodivergent preservice educators experience the structural, pedagogical, and cultural expectations embedded within music teacher preparation. This study seeks to address that gap by centering the voices of students navigating intersecting identities within a performance-intensive, socially complex professional pathway.
