Abstract
It is well known that having more financial knowledge predicts more responsible credit card behavior regardless of age. Additionally, college students are particularly susceptible to poor financial behavior with the addition of student loans. Many college students are also entering the workforce during school to get a head start in their career and sustain themselves financially. This study analyzes the effects of employment on credit card behavior in college students. We hypothesized that students who have a job will also have more responsible credit card behavior. A Qualtrics survey was administered to college students between the ages of 18-24 years old. The survey collected demographics, employment data, and information on credit card behavior and overall financial knowledge. The results of this study will be presented at SURS on November 25th.
