OTD Capstone Projects
Abstract
Tucker's House is a non-profit organization that provides home and environmental modifications as well as assistive devices to families in Middle Tennessee that have a child with a disability. This doctoral capstone project focused on developing resources the organization can provide to individuals with low vision, visual impairment or blindness as well as their families/caregivers. The resources created include family intake forms, adaptive devices and durable medical equipment lists, community resources, general strategies, and smartphone/technology accessibility guides all related to increasing safety, participation in daily living tasks, and independence for individuals with visual impairment.
