Description
As racial change swept the country in the 1960s, many parts of the United States lagged behind as unwritten rules dictated race relations in the South. Although unofficial, these rules directed appropriate codes of behavior for many Southerners and influenced all aspects of life, even basketball. To go against this code was to deny the Southern heritage. This presentation details the story of one team who challenged this rule and in doing so, rewrote the unwritten rule of college basketball in the South.
