Abstract
Are you planning to submit a sabbatical proposal in the next year or two? Are you debating with yourself whether or not you have enough time to take a sabbatical? Are you in a leadership position to encourage and support faculty development, including sabbaticals? This informal session will provide information about the process of applying for a sabbatical. The next sabbatical application deadline is in early Fall 2021 for sabbaticals to be taken during the 2022-23 academic year. Several Belmont faculty members who recently completed a sabbatical or were granted a sabbatical for 2021-22, namely Doyuen Ko (Audio Engineering Technology), Joel Overall (English), Kara Smith (Economics), and Michelle Guinn (Mathematics), will describe their experience with the proposal process, suggestions or ideas to help with planning a sabbatical, and the value of a sabbatical in their professional development.
