Abstract
Are you planning to submit a sabbatical proposal in the next year or two? Are you debating with yourself whether or not you have enough time to take a sabbatical? Are you in a leadership position to encourage and support faculty development, including sabbaticals? This informal session will provide information about the process of planning and applying for a sabbatical. The next sabbatical application deadline is in early Fall 2024 for sabbaticals to be taken during the 2025-26 academic year. Several Belmont faculty members who recently completed a sabbatical or were granted a sabbatical for 2024-25, namely Charmion Gustke (English), Clare Eng (Music), Tom Bagwell (Mental Health Counseling) and Chris Barton (Biology), will describe their experience with the proposal process, suggestions or ideas to help with planning a sabbatical, and the value of a sabbatical in their professional development.
