Abstract

This presentation addresses the critical issue of antibiotic-resistance, exacerbated by the widespread overuse of antibiotics in both humans and animals. Utilizing a system dynamics model based on the SIR model for disease spread, we will delve into the genetic adaptability of bacteria and their accelerated evolution towards resistance in a population. Additionally, we examine the impact of antibiotic prescription rates on bacterial infections. We present a mathematical model to explore the significant implication of and strategic solutions to this pervasive challenge in contemporary medicine. Through this we learn some of the most effective ways to control antibiotic-resistant bacteria infections.
