Summary
The community is important in the New River Gorge. The community raised awareness for the new river to become a national park.
By co-creating with the land and co-existing with community history, the design supports a diverse and human-scaled environment through walkable circulation, accessible public programs, and intentional overlap between research and community spaces.
Objectivity guides the design process through careful observation of real conditions. Together, these ideas support a process in which architecture emerges through relationships with the site, reinforcing a design ethic of collaboration, respect, and coexistence rather than imposition
