Summary
This presentation examines *Delilah*, an emerging social media application designed to increase political awareness and civic engagement by providing users with accessible, real-time information about legislative activity. By combining the interactivity of social media with civic education, the platform aims to make political participation more understandable, relevant, and accessible to contemporary users. To address the challenge of building awareness, adoption, and sustained engagement, this project develops a strategic communication plan for Delilah informed by survey research, interviews, competitor analysis, and a SWOT/situation analysis. Together, these methods provide insight into audience attitudes, the competitive landscape, and the internal and external factors shaping the platform’s communication needs and growth potential. Based on these findings, the plan emphasizes campus outreach, partnerships with university organizations, and content strategies designed to foster informed discussion, strengthen platform visibility, and encourage ongoing user engagement. Overall, this presentation shows how research-informed strategic communication can support the growth of an emerging civic technology platform while contributing to political awareness, civic learning, and more informed public dialogue.
