Summary
The goal of this project is to bring V.E. Schwab’s The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue to screens as a limited, 7-episode drama series. Dubbed a future classic by many, this novel tells the story of Addie LaRue, a girl from rural France in the 1700s, who makes a deal with the ancient god Luc, granting her eternal life but cursing her to be forgotten.
Given the dense narrative spanning nearly 300 years, the series is organized into seven one-hour episodes. Each episode weaves together different timelines, often shifting between Addie's past and present within the same episode. Some episodes may also focus on other characters' perspectives, offering audiences varied viewpoints and deepening the storyline beyond a single protagonist. This flexible structure allows the story to unfold at a natural rhythm while accommodating the novel's multifaceted narrative.
With the success of streaming services releasing original shows, it is a fitting time to pitch the adaptation of this popular book. The characters and their struggles have touched many readers, especially on relevant topics such as mental health and sexuality, and this adaptation would be able to reach even more people.
