Summary
Scenes and speeches from a selection of William Shakespeare's histories, romances, and problem plays are explored through rehearsal and performance in found spaces, focusing on maximum theatrical impact to capture and keep the attention of passing pedestrians while utilizing only the most basic of theatrical conventions: the actor, the space, and the text.
Selections and excerpts in this session include:
- Act II, Scene 4 of Measure for Measure (Ellie Anderson, director)
- Act I, Scene 6 of Cymbeline (Sophie Eastone, director)
- Queen Anne monologue from Act I, Scene 2 of Richard III (Nicolette Manrique, director)
- Act I, Scene 4 of Richard III (Ally Anglim, director)
- Queen Margaret monologue from Act I, Scene 1 of Henry VI, Part 3 (Xander Kline, director)
- Act V, Scene 1 of Pericles, Prince of Tyre (Maxwell Collins, director)
