Summary

My business forecasting research is focused on a video game called Teamfight Tactics, which has various tournaments throughout the year. One of these tournaments that occurs 2-3 times per “set,” or season, is the Americas Tactician’s Cup. While the cutoff rank for qualifications and the next tournament change sometimes depending on the season, it is consistent that at least the top 4 competitors are automatically qualified to proceed to the next stage. My research looks at the top 32 players left in these tournaments and investigates if we can forecast how changes to various gameplay statistical rankings such as Items, Compositions, Econ, Flexibility, and Execution impact whether a competitor reaches the top 4 qualification cutoff.
