Description
This picture was taken at Frognerseteren Restaurant just outside Oslo. That day we had visited Holmenkollen, the Olympic ski jump, and stopped for lunch before hiking to Sognsvann Lake. I could tell Frognerseteren was where people stopped for a quick lunch before heading out on their next adventure. As we ate, mountain bikers sped by on a dirt path, runners slowed just long enough to catch a whiff of the delicious cafe, and hikers laced up their hiking boots and set off with their trekking poles leading the way. I ate fresh salmon on an open-faced sandwich, seasoned with fresh herbs and lemon, and had a wonderfully crunchy meringue for dessert. The food, the company, the atmosphere - all of it is a reminder of a perfect moment of a perfect day.
