Description

This photo was taken at the Louvre of one of the other students on my trip. Not only does the scale represent the importance of classical painting, but it represents the impact of art as a whole. Paintings such as these carry rich history, and each person that looks at it adds to its history. Based on the time period a painting is unveiled to the public, it may face a wide array of responses both positive and negative. Over time, as attitudes and societies change, those opinions change, but all of them are etched into the painting. This photograph represents the past, present, and future of such a piece.
