Description

This photo is a portrait image of a young girl in her daily life among the Maasai tribe that inhabits much of Tanzania. She has a shaved head, is clad in a beautiful purple fabric, and displays various makings on her face for medicinal purposes of the Maasai. This image means so much to me, as it is a mirror of what life is like for a teen in a third world country. She appears happy, brave, and so beautiful. After the picture was taken, she wanted to view it and did a second pose and truly enjoyed the back and forth of capturing the moment.
