It’s hard to imagine a film series on the relationship between humanity and technology without Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. Groundbreaking not only for the way the story made us think about the growing personalization of the computer but also for its stunning use of technology in the making of the film, 2001 has consistently been rated as one of the top ten best and most influencial films ever made. For the kick-off of our film series, join us in experiencing 2001 in Belmont’s new Dolby-sound equipped cinema in the Johnson Center. Film 1 of the Pre- Symposium International Film Series, “Of (Hu)man and Machine,” co-sponsored by the School of Humanities and the Belmont University Film Society. Discussion to follow.
