Description

The Artist-Fan Engagement Model was developed in 2012 to help explain the relationship between music artists and their fans. The model, based on hedonic consumption and parasocial interaction theory, explores how the effects of music and artist drive fan engagement through access or ownership of recorded music. This presentation will highlight the development of the original model, along with initial study results. A second round of the original study will be implemented in Fall 2020 in order to determine if elements within the model have significantly changed.
