Abstract
Kenneth F. Nelson (1911 – 2008) was an executive with Capitol Records who began working in their transcription department in 1951. Nelson quickly became a top A&R producer in the country music field, helping guide many notable artists like Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and Tommy Collins, among others. Nelson also helped found the Country Music Association (CMA). In 2001, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
