Abstract
This presentation compiles information regarding privacy and data rights that we are advocating for through an Instagram page @bruinsforadvocacy. We use this page to reach an audience that is familiar with social media, while educating Gen Z about the possible implications of using social media and technology every day. We hope by watching this presentation, the audience is more aware and careful about what information they share on the internet, as well as reading the fine print to understand what is being taken from them. Within this presentation, we recommend things the United States can do on the federal level to change the harvesting of our data, we give a small case study on Cambridge Analytica, we explore the ACL, and we interview Belmont students about what they know regarding terms and conditions.
