Abstract
This project explores the leading causes of death across various counties in Tennessee for the years: 2019, 2020, and 2021; focusing on Davidson, Hamilton, Knox, Madison, Shelby, and Sullivan counties. Utilizing comprehensive datasets detailing mortality rates and demographic factors, the study investigates the prevalence and ranking of specific causes of death within each county. The analysis reveals significant variations in mortality patterns, with diseases of the heart emerging as the primary cause of death across all counties. Furthermore, the impact of external factors such as accidents, COVID-19, and chronic respiratory diseases is examined. By elucidating the distribution and magnitude of mortality outcomes, this research provides valuable insights for public health practitioners and policymakers to develop targeted interventions aimed at reducing mortality rates and improving overall population health in Tennessee.
