Abstract
How has technology shaped political views? The accessibility of political information through technology, mainly social media and the internet, has had a significant impact on politics. Providing individuals with easy access to political news and opinions contributes to the spread of disinformation and political polarization. I will test this through responses to a survey with questions related to the accessibility of political information through technology and its impact on people's political opinions and education. To develop a quantitative measure for these “qualitative” factors, I will take the values/scales associated with each answer to generate composite scores for each of these variables. The results may highlight the need for increased digital literacy and regulation of information on these platforms to ensure the preservation of democratic values.
