Abstract
Female and ESL students are at a disadvantage with standardized testing. ESL students must learn the methods of testing and the conventions of English. Alternatively, female students are frequently miscalculated in their performance on standardized tests due to greater test anxiety and other factors. This project examines math proficiency scores for female and ESL students across eleven school districts in Tennessee. Ultimately, it investigates the success of these two groups through predictive modeling.
