Columbia Studio A - Nashville: Audio

This project was formed to develop, test, and share aural heritage preservation, translation, and access technologies via three detailed case study applications and associated outreach projects, producing:
  1. a translatable aural heritage data (acoustics + auditory perspective) collection protocol for long-term preservation and virtual representations of this intangible form of cultural heritage;
  2. a method for processing aural heritage data into scalable auralizations (reconstructions for listening) that translate across audio reproduction platforms of different sizes and configurations;
  3. tutorials and extensibility pathways for other researchers to implement these methodologies, to include instructed workshop events, web-based tutorials, and other publicly accessible project products and resources.
