Belmont Humanities Symposium Journal

Abstract

The subject of time, our differing perceptions, experiences, and expressions of it, has interested and at times obsessed me for over forty years now, and I realize that the topics being pursued by many of our speakers not surprisingly resonate with many of my own questions and preoccupations with this subject. Where, then, with such a body of memory and thought, to begin this essay intended to situate those issues in literature and language?
