Abstract
What then would I say is the value of poetry or fiction? I think the truest answers are drawn from our own experiences of literature (and by this I mean literature of all kinds, not just high brow materials we study in college, or even the classics, those works Italo Calvino says we re-read for love). No, for me the real value of literature is in these communities they create, within themselves and across space and time among those who experience those works.
