Description
The Contributor, a street newspaper in Nashville, provides a platform for currently and formerly homeless individuals to publish their stories through poetry, news, essays and opinion pieces. Perhaps more importantly, though, thousands of times every day, The Contributor creates an opportunity for an interaction between individuals who have experienced homelessness and those who have not. Tasha French, founder and executive director of The Contributor, will discuss the power of giving a voice and a face to homelessness as well as her own process of searching for and creating her own voice in the non-profit and newspaper worlds.
