Abstract

Working with the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Nashville, this project analyzes trends in the Arizona Self-Sufficiency Matrix (ASSM) scores across various departments and programs. Catholic Charities has used ASSM since 2021 to assess client self-sufficiency across 18 categories. Some include housing, food security, mental health, and community involvement, with scores ranging from one to five, five being in the best state for that category. Through statistical modeling, trend analysis, and clustering algorithms, this project identifies patterns and relationships within the data to provide valuable insights for department and program heads. This project aims to visualize similarities, differences, and changes over time in the data of the programs and departments. By painting this picture of the data, we can best visualize the best strategies to maximize program efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and support Catholic Charities' mission to work with clients toward lasting self-reliance.
