Summary
“Last Night in Soho" is a psychological thriller that combines the past and present through the eyes of Ellie, the main character, a young aspiring fashion designer with a deep fascination for the 1960s. After moving to London, she suddenly finds herself transported back to the vibrant and glamorous world of 1966, while there she encounters a captivating singer named Sandie. As Ellie becomes increasingly interested with Sandie's life, she experiences the attraction and glamour of the era, but she soon realizes the dark past that lurks beneath the surface. Our project explores themes of ambition, identity, and the consequences of the past. We discover Ellie’s dreamlike journey which turns into a nightmarish reality; she has to face the haunting secrets of the past that threaten her future. The film analysis perfectly blends elements of horror and psychological drama, showcasing amazing visuals and a captivating soundtrack that pays homage to the 60s. For this project, we researched how fashion influenced London culture of the era and how the film bridged the past and present together, and we sketched outfits inspired by the film’s style.
