Summary
The Cove is a domestic violence shelter for women and children designed to create a sense of home and refuge. The Cove utilizes prospect-refuge theory, trauma informed design, phenomenology, and color theory. A combination of community and private spaces, opportunity for choice, and materiality work together to build dignity and ownership while providing security and comfortability.
