Description
This session will begin with a viewing of La Jetée (27 mins, in English), French filmmaker Chris Marker’s highly influential, thought-provoking and unusual time-travel film. Told entirely in a montage of still black and white photographs, the film raises many of the questions that lie behind much time-travel literature as well as in the minds of those who give serious consideration to how this might be made real. The film will be followed by a discussion of some of the issues raised by the film not just about time travel but about the human experience of time.
