Description
This presentation will focus on representative Mexican and Chicano plays and performances that depict the dangerous journey of migrants through their native Mexico to the US/Mexico border, as well as their fate and identity as illegal immigrants in the United States. Through the very direct and often seemingly unmediated medium of theatre and performance, these works give voice and presence to those individuals who too often remain voiceless and politically invisible in both their native homeland and their adopted country.
